Mission Focus

The Central Ethiopia Regional State Finance Bureau, led by the Head of the Bureau, is primarily responsible for establishing and implementing the regional government’s fiscal policy framework, preparing and administering the state budget, executing payments accordingly, and monitoring performance. The Bureau is mandated to develop and maintain systems for budgeting, accounting, payments, cash management, and internal audits, while also managing and safeguarding the regional government’s financial documents, funds, and physical assets. Furthermore, it is authorized to sign loan and grant agreements, ensure the efficient management of resources from partner organizations, and conduct financial and property inspections across government offices. Its duties extend to coordinating modern procurement and asset management systems, overseeing governmental and non-governmental organizations in the economic and social sectors, licensing and evaluating Civil Society Organizations to ensure equitable resource distribution, and monitoring the profitability and market integration of state-owned enterprises, all while exercising the overarching leadership authority granted to it by proclamation.
